The Holiday Season Update #1 2021

The holiday season is in full swing and our family is enjoying each and every day of it.

We started early this year reading our Advent book a week before normal. Each year we enjoy nightly family time as we purpose to remember what and who Christmas is truly about - Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We begin our Christmas season by celebrating Advent. Jotham's Journey is book one of a great series of books that take our family on a journey to the birth of Christ. The other books are Bartholemew's Passage, and Tabitha's Travels.

This year we are reading Ishtar's Odyssey. It is about the wise men who traveled from Persia to Bethlehem to honor a new king. The main character is Ishtar, a young boy destined to be a king of Persia. The story follows his trip through the desert, his physical journey. The story also follows his character development, bringing the readers on a spiritual journey and an adventure that teaches Ishtar valuable life lessons.

We eat spritz cookies, sing carols, and pray for others. It is a special time in our year, to bond every single night around a great story, good cookies, and thoughts of others.
